The gaming industry is only using 5% of the potential of AI according to Altenar’s Sales Manager, Diego Salas.
Speaking to Fernando Noodt, Senior Journalist for SBC Noticias, Salas detailed the ways he believes that AI can be utilised.
He said: “For instance, AI can help to do the profiling of players, risk management and odds comparisons. So there are, I think, still several ways that AI is going to impact day-to-day operations. Not only from the player journey perspective, [but also] within the companies helping them to make reports and in marketing.
“Now they are able to use the tools that AI is bringing to make life easier. I believe that it’s not going to replace human work but it’s going to be a good complement.”
Latin America
During the interview, filmed at SBC Summit Latinoamerica, Salas also spoke about the importance of Latin America as a region for Altenar given its continued growth.
Most notably, Brazil is on the verge of market launch in January 2025 and Salas explained that the firm is already working with several operators in the country and has obtained the necessary certification to provide its services as a B2B provider.
He added: “You see a lot of European operators coming to Latin America and it is still in a process of growing which many operators and providers can take advantage of.
“As we do in Brazil, we are investing in other [Latin American] countries. Just this year we opened an office in Uruguay. We have several teams working remotely so we are moving those teams to our office in Uruguay and providing close service and support to our customers.
“Also, every country now is getting into its regulation. We are speaking about Colombia and Brazil and they are [also] talking about Chile, so our system and platform now is ready to provide our service in those markets.
“Not only those ones but the ones that are going to come into regulation because we adapt our solution to every single market.”
Intelligent bet acceptance
Later on in the interview, Noodt also spoke to Giannis Avgoustidis, Account Manager for Altenar, who delved deeper into some of the latest features released by the company.
This included an overview of Altenar’s intelligent bet acceptance logic which locks odds in place while players are compiling their bets.
On the tool, Avgoustidis said: “The scope of this project was to improve the way we accept bets when we have one or more live selections. This is really important, especially in sports like tennis, table tennis or even multiple with many live selections when odds change constantly.
“We created an alternative logic that we see the odds in place bet and not after the bet delay. We can also set specific limits there and if the difference in probabilities between the placed bet and the delay is within those specific limits, we accept the bet the user has selected. So you can imagine that this is way better and we have a way better user experience.”
