Strong results from the gambling and iGaming scene in Denmark have been announced as the national regulator has confirmed gambling revenue of £45m for the month of May.

According to national regulator Spillemyndigheden, total market revenue for May totalled DKK683 million ($107 million), which is 2.7% more than April of this year and the highest monthly total so far in 2025.

Denmark as a country is beginning to see growth across the industry, especially given recent news such as LeoVegas‘ enhancing its foothold in the sports betting space and building up its presence in the country.

In addition, Kaizen Gaming has strengthened its presence in the Danish market by securing a sponsorship agreement between its Betano brand and the 3F Superliga.

Other notable revelations

The hard figures show tremendous growth but there have also been other areas affected. Take the land-based casino market for example; physical slot machines drew 8.3% more than the previous year. Plus, May’s revenue surpassed the reported figures in April by 12.9%.

Looking at player protection, results published showed data on the ROFUS self-exclusion scheme showed some interesting results. Of all registrants, 78.5% are male and 21.5% female.

Some 63.5% have opted for permanent exclusion from gambling in Denmark, 16.4% for six months, 12.1% for three months and 8.1% one month.

Overall, the figures from the report show that Denmark’s gambling market is in a strong place, showing growth, a strong rise year-on-year in most cases and more people engaging in gambling exclusion programs looks promising.
