Artificial Intelligence is reportedly making us ‘a little bit stupid’ due to its ability to manipulate data, states CEO and Founder of SOS réputation, Alan Cladx.

The arrival of AI in the gambling and iGaming industry has seen countless helpful uses, whether it’s assessing player churn, helping with customer account setups or analysing large sets of data.

With many positive uses,Cladx has warned over the negatives of AI, citing data manipulation and the ability to force people to think a certain way.

It was a topic he dived into on iGaming Daily’s latest podcast, as he was joined by SEO-expert, Ivana Flynn, to discuss the murky world of AI manipulation.

Cladx claimed that ‘anyone’ can manipulate data which makes it a worrying proposition. “It’s very easy,” Cladx admitted.

“Anyone can manipulate data with AI. You can easily edit some content, add some content or delete some content on AI. When I’m talking about edit, add or delete, it’s not about the prompt.”

He even revealed how he used AI to make a fake sport, named AquaPony, that ended up fooling members of the media and people online. Doing so proved a point, it was a warning over how easily AI can manipulate people.

Cladx continued: “And from what I know, AquaPony got featured on some huge newspapers in podcasts in France saying like, this is a new sport because the journalists became too lazy to actually check the facts. So AI is making us a little bit stupid.”

Expanding further, he touched on how people manipulate people’s opinions by using AI and prompts with ChatGPT to push keywords more which lead to better SEO scores for certain web pages.

“In fact, we make a script prompt injection,” the CEO stated. “That means we push, when you follow the link, there’s a prompt inside the link to go on ChatGPT. Then, we say, talk about this page, talk about this keyword more, put this part more event, talk about different sources, but exclude the other sources for the whole competitors.

“In the end, you train the AI to talk about what you want to say. At the same time, it is very scary because you actually can make people think whatever you want.”

AI is making us ‘stupid’ and public can be ‘manipulated’
