Bingo, casino games and game shows can all benefit greatly from what could be the future of iGaming according to Oliver Lietz.

The CEO of nanocosmos discussed the biggest challenges that operators face in this hyper-competitive market but that he believes that the future of iGaming is rooted in real-time live-streaming.

Operators who can offer flawless video streams and instant video experiences will likely thrive in the future.

Lietz told SBC Media Manager Fernando Noodt on the latest episode of the iGaming Daily podcast: “The most important challenge is keeping up the highest possible quality of service, ideally you have a 100% success rate, no down times, no failure situations.

“Live video is really hard to implement. We learned our lesson, we created all the technology ourselves, we have full control, we see when things are happening.”

A move to emerging markets such as Brazil offer fresh opportunities but there are factors to consider such as localisation, adaptation but also the potential.

He said: “While high-quality streaming is critical everywhere, emerging markets such as Brazil are shaping the next frontier for iGaming growth.”

Why technology is key to growth

Lietz discussed a technical breakdown on a potential move to the country and how the technology would need to work across regions.

“Brazil is very interesting. It’s important to have server locations in all these different regions and then adapt to the right situations.

“Bingo, for example, is very popular in Brazil and that requires different kinds of setups… to understand what the challenges are around that.

“It’s important to understand the local markets and to have people speaking the language… but also we have a global system which automatically adjusts which we expand to these regions.”

Other challenges explained by Lietz speak to the customer experience on the whole and ensuring playback is as uninterrupted as possible.

“Even with reduced quality, you still have participants in the live stream, you automatically adjust this network to the right situation in the right environment.”

With Brazil’s betting and iGaming recording BRL17.4 billion ($3.2 billion) in the first six months of the licensed market, the opportunities to thrive are there and configuring live-streaming could be the next move operators in Latin America.
