The Big Betting Balagan: A series of podcasts which focus on the good, the bad and the ugly of  the betting and gaming industry. Defining the podcast name ‘Balagan’ from our Pod title ‘The Big Betting Balagan.’

The best translation into English would be something like a state of chaos, disarray or even confusion. The trio believe this name is something ‘Those in the industry will be able to identify with that and how it has evolved and gets things done!’

What is being said?

Hutchins: “A post code can have as many as 1-200 people within it. A postcode can cover a block of flats, it can cover a whole street. You have to look at the data and understand what it is representing in order to use it usefully in any services that you put out.

“Anything that you can get on the person is going to give you a much granular view of that person’s circumstances at that point in time.

“A lot of that data is very much subject to reciprocal arrangements. To be assembled to access that data traditionally the lenders put in to get out. If you’re a lender you will generally provide data to the bureaus so when you do your credit check, your affordability check and your authentication check you are able to use that data in the bureau to pull that out.

“That’s the sort of conversations that are now happening within our industry now about are we able to provide the data that we have out to the operators and if so what data might the operators have that would be of interest to the other members of that data sharing group but also what advantage would that give the operators and we’re talked about the data sharing earlier.

“What they then would be able to do is actually understand that when Sean Hutchins onboarded onto an operators platform I actually have information there that tells me he is a member of other platforms and so you get that fuller picture rather than having someone join a platform and not really knowing anything about it.”

Why should I watch it?
