Massachusetts Gaming Commission open meeting on affiliate marketing

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission held a roundtable discussion with three gambling affiliate firms to delve into the practices of affiliate marketing within the Bay State.

As it stands, the proposed regulations within the state for sports betting prohibits operators from entering into either a revenue share or cost-per-acquisition arrangement with a third party.

Participating in the debate was Jennifer Roberts, Vice President and General Council of Wynnbet, as well as Alan Stremel, Chief Marketing Officer, Cory Fox, Vice President of Product and New Marketing Appliance at FanDuel, BetMGM’s Sarah Brennan, Senior Director of Compliance and Rhea Loney, Chief Compliance Officer.

The session also included Penn’s Sam Haggerty, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and Regulatory Affairs Council and North Grounsell, as well as Matt Scalf, Government Affairs Manager at DraftKings, Michael Daly, CEO at Catena Media, Better Collective US’s Head of Legal, Katie McCord and Jeff Ifrah.

Representing the voice of responsible gaming within the discussion was operator and responsible gambling expert Brianne Doura-Schawohl.
