Light & Wonder (L&W) premiered its new Squid Game slot machine at the Yaamava’ Resort & Casino.

The slot manufacturer has partnered with the Netflix hit show to bring a slot that integrates elements and themes inspired by the 2021 South Korean drama. Fans of the show will recognise features that represent games from the series, including Tug of War, The Glass Tile and Red Light, Green Light.

On the launch, Nathan Drane, Chief Product Officer of Gaming at Light & Wonder, said: “The introduction of the SQUID GAME slot machine is a testament to our commitment to delivering unique and engaging gaming experiences.

The Squid Game title is hosted on L&W’s large-screen jumbo cabinet Horizon, which features a 75-inch screen with 600,000 individual micro-LED pixels – a total display area of 90 inches.

Additionally, the cabinet offers a large transparent iDeck with integrated lightning, a 27-inch touch screen, mobile chargers and dual play buttons, aiming to deliver “an unparalleled level of excitement and immersion, while giving our customers a truly innovative product.

To help launch the new game L&W called on slot influencer Brian Christopher who was the first person to play the game – and win a jackpot. Christopher’s stream of the world premiere has been viewed by over 141,000 people on his YouTube channel.

Sharing the news on LinkedIn, BC Ventures, the umbrella company for Christopher’s channels, said that its Squid Game content from the event has already been viewed over 350,000 times and added that the game is “100% worth the hype and the wait”.
