Ever wondered how a slot goes from an initial idea to a finished product?

Following the launch of its latest slot title, Mine Island, SmartSoft has released interviews with three of the game’s developers who offered insights into how they took the title “from concept to completion”.

Mine Island is part of the firm’s “Jumping Games” category and Levan Kavtaradze, Chief Product Officer at SmartSoft, explained that the category was “inspired by mobile games” and created based on Mine Island’s mechanics.

He added: “Our new game features a stylish kangaroo in a Brazilian style that is designed with easy navigation and intuitive gameplay for building better strategies. Our goal was to make Mine Island stand out in the market and now we can truly say that the game has achieved all the results we aimed for.”

When playing the game, a kangaroo jumps from the sandy shores of a beach to the first of many stepping stones.

Each stepping stone that it manages to land on presents a multiplier to be applied to the player’s stake, however, the kangaroo can fail to land on the stepping stones at any point which will lose the player their original stake and return them to the beginning.

Explaining the process of designing the game, SmartSoft Artist, Nino Gvinchidze, said: “We wanted to blend fun elements like sugar mountain and a kangaroo dressed in quirky clothes to reflect the game’s cheerful nature. Every detail from vibrant colours to smooth animation was crafted to ensure a stress-free and enjoyable experience for the players.

“Animating the kangaroo and jumping mechanics was the toughest part, but despite the challenges we manifest to create an innovative [user interface] that makes Mine Island so popular and unique in its own category.”

Before launching a title it must go through extensive testing, and SmartSoft’s Back-end Developer, Zuka Esakia, described his role in delivering a game that is “fun, but also technically robust and reliable”.

He said: “My role was to ensure that everything works seamlessly behind the scenes, from designing the in-game architecture to implementing the logic sets and power up kangaroo jumps.

“Collaboration with the front-end team was crucial to bring the vibrant visuals to life while maintaining the optimal performance. [Quality Assurance] testing was intensive but essential to catch bugs and refine gameplay to ensure a smooth engaging experience.”
