Gaming and crypto are becoming increasingly synonymous as blockchain technology becomes a more accepted part of wider society.

With that, though, comes a whole new demographic of players with unique demands, according to Dirk Cammilleri, Chief Product Officer at iGP. He added that due to the nature of crypto, built on peer-to-peer transactions and independent of traditional financial institutions, players using the currency have differing expectations.

“It’s definitely a younger player demographic,” he told Joe Streeter, Editor of iGaming Expert, at ICE Barcelona. “I would say more tax-savvy and looking into transparency. It’s all in the ecosystem so the ability to see and not have third parties look into that.”

Camilleri also outlined how iGP’s new crypto product aims to take advantage of the upward trend of crypto’s popularity.

He said: “We’ve had our sights set on crypto for a while now. It started a while back with a number of operators being quite successful, so it’s something which we’ve had feedback on from clients and potential partners.

“They wanted access to a new demographic of players so we wanted to make sure that we’re not missing out.”

As well as launching its crypto product at ICE, iGP also unveiled its latest terminals, designed to deliver the same player experience across devices.

“The template that we are offering supports fiat and crypto and a wide variety of games are also available on the terminals,” enthused Camilleri. “Whether you’re on your phone, at home or even on a terminal, you will be given the same experience.”
