The Regional Administrative Court of Lazio, Italy, has sided with Betway, Sportpesa, Nexigames and Snaitech in their appeals against the country’s regulatory body, the ADM.

The operators had lodged separate appeals, claiming the ADM had failed to provide assurances that they would be able to reapply for licensing extensions.

The court ruled that the government must give licensed operators such assurances, ahead of the passing of Italy’s next Budget Law, which requires parliamentary approval by the end of the year.

Nick Rust, CEO of the British Horseracing Authority, has called for the UK government to reopen betting shops once the current national lockdown ends, adding there is ‘no evidence’ that betting shops have contributed to the spread of coronavirus.

From the 2nd of December, England is expected to return to a tiered system of coronavirus restrictions. However, bookmakers are concerned that shops could remain closed in areas that remain in Tier Three measures.

Speaking on Luck on Sunday racing podcast, Rust reaffirmed that the racing sector has been working alongside the government to ensure that betting shops can reopen safely.

Digital marketing specialist Optimove has entered a new partnership with BlueRibbon Software that will focus on boosting player engagement and retention.

The partners will collaborate on an ‘out-of-the-box integration’, enabling Optimove users to create custom jackpot campaigns, thus increasing player engagement, loyalty and retention.
