Ole Gunnar Solskjær, manager of Manchester United, has made the headlines in the world of esports this week, participating in an investment into ULTI Agency.

In the latest edition of the ESI Digest, Tom Daniels, Sub-Editor of Esports Insider, highlighted a collaborative effort between Solskjær and Jim Solbakken as one of the biggest stories of the week.

The duo have now become joint-owners of ULTI Agency, each acquiring a 12.5% stake, secured via Grip Management AS and Sir Solution AS respectively, although financial details have not yet been confirmed.

In other investment news, the parent company of MAD Lions, Toronto Ultra and Toronto Defiant, OverActive Media, has received a private investment of over $40 million.

The Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL) have joined the leadership of the company, whilst Phil Kessel of the Arizona Coyotes and Carl Hagelin of the Washington Capitals have also secured ownership.

Meanwhile, Epic Games has announced the closing of a £1 billion funding round, whilst Enthusiast Gaming has declared its intention to register publicly on Nasdaq.

To successfully list on the stock exchange, the organisation – owner of Luminosity Gaming, Overwatch League franchise Vancouver Titans, and Call Of Duty League side Seattle Surge – has filed a Registration Statement on Form 40-F with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Lastly, the University of Kentucky launched an international esports exchange programme in Seoul, South Korea, in cooperation with esports organisation Gen.G and scholar association International Studies Abroad (ISA). Participating students will be offered a four-week stay at either Hanyang University or Korea University.
