DraftKings has bolstered its focus on media output, through the hiring Stacie McCollum as Head of Programming, and Todd Dubester as Vice President, Media Strategy and Business Operations.

McCollum and Dubester will spearhead the management of DraftKings’ media and content growth. McCollum will work with the executive team in owned content and distribution development, while Dubester will help find new distribution channels and business models and define the operator’s long-term media vision.

Brian Angiolet, Chief Media Officer of DraftKings, commented: “Bringing in two industry veterans like Stacie and Todd to aid in the growth of our owned content is a giant leap for our overall media strategy as we continue to invest in the buildout of our assets.

“As sports betting continues its rapid ascension in the United States, I am confident these leaders will bring new ideas and fresh perspectives towards our content vision.”

McCollum joins DraftKings from ESPN where she held various roles across its programming including the build of several key networks. She was also instrumental in program strategy, content acquisitions and live events.

Dubester joins having spent over 20 years as a senior-level cross-segment media, sports and entertainment executive, including at Walt Disney and Universal Studios where he led distribution, programming, business development activities and the build-out of interactive businesses. He most recently founded Academy Sports Media, serving as its CEO.

Earlier this year, DraftKings named Stephanie Sherman as its new Chief Marketing Officer, a move that the operator says will consolidate all marketing functions under her leadership.
