Earlier this year, White Hat Studios became the only iGaming supplier to go live in all seven active US states when they launched in Rhode Island with Bally’s.
To discuss White Hat’s rapid rise in the US, amongst other topics, Andrea McGeachin is joined by the CEO of White Hat Studios, Andy Whitworth, on day two of Neosurf’s takeover of iGaming Daily, supported by Optimove.
It has been a rapid rise for White Hat in the US, as they touched down in all seven iGaming states within 20 months and Andy discussed some of the reasons for his company’s success.
Andy explained: “I think we have two really big, unique selling points. One of it’s our branded IP. So we call ourselves a house of brands and we have spent millions on doing deals. And then the second part is our jackpot system. There aren’t actually many good jackpot products in the US, most of them are sort of standalone games. So we’ve come in with a product called Jackpot Royale, which links as many games as you want into a progressive system. I think in Michigan and Pennsylvania, we have over 30 games feeding into a jackpot. So they’re literally just paying out constantly to the players.”
Andy also provides an update on White Hat’s performance in Rhode Island, which he describes as going “fantastically well” and explains how launching in new states can be a way for new and smaller supplier to “make their mark” given they aren’t trying to catch up with larger operators like when launching in established markets.
One of White Hat Gaming’s widely known products is their Player Account Management (PAM) however many people, including Andrea, have little idea how the PAM system works.
Andy explains PAM is the “machine behind the front end of a casino” and is responsible for getting money in and out of the casino, as well as integrating sportsbook products, payment solutions and KYC features.
To end the show the talk turns to White Hat’s responsible gaming and player protection principles which Andy says is a key part of White Hat’s Philosophy.
He added: “When you talk to the White Hat Gaming guys [Responsible gaming] is the number one priority of the business over making more money. If you look at the fines in Europe you really have to be a responsible operator these days to continue in the future.”
