Online slots supplier Play’n GO has revealed that it will release five new games in August.
On the latest episode of The Go Show, hosted by Ramona Stasos Elmros, it revealed that Mafia Gold, Joker Flip, Scourge of Rome, Ankh of Anubis and Gemix 100 will all be released next month.
Scourge of Rome is a video slot that features expanding reels and a new symbol tool.
Erik Hellstrom, Play’n GO’s Game Retention Leader explained that symbol removal feature “works together with the expanding reels”.
He added: “The symbol removal can remove, for instance, the highest paying symbol and the symbol that you’re searching for which is the elephant. You have a feature that allows the symbol to move one step up and just keep on adding the elephant symbol.”
Both Ankh of Anubis and Gemix 100 are sequels to previously released titles.
It is approaching the tenth anniversary of the release of the original Gemix grid slot and George Olekszy, Head of Game Retention at Play’n GO, offered his opinion on why the original game was so well received.
He said: “I think grid slots in general were very new back then so that in itself was innovation. But with the story depth and the characters and all the different various features that we had in that game, I think it stood out from the crowd. The fact that it’s been popular for nearly a decade really is a testament to how good the game is.”
He added that while the latest Gemix game will feature all the same characters and be very similar to the original Gemix game, it will now have a maximum multiplier to 100 times which is in line with the other slots in its 100 series.
Play’n GO make strides in South Africa and North America
In the second half of the episode, Stuart Trigwell, Director of Business Development at Play’n GO, joined the show to talk about “an exciting time” in the company’s commercial development.
Trigwell explained that Play’n GO are working in a large number of jurisdictions globally and also recently launched in South Africa with one of the “leading operators” in the country.
Play’n GO joined the Canadian Gaming Association and Trigwell detailed the importance of this, as well as some of the firm’s plans throughout North America.
He said: “North America and the US in particular will always be a key focus for us. We’re continuing to do direct integrations and partnerships with all the key operators, and we’re going to continue to see this pipeline to develop and go live with even more operators throughout the rest of the year.
“Play’n Go has recently joined the Canadian Gaming Association which is really important as we look to go into more regulated provinces within Canada. We’ve recently gone live with the state monopoly in Quebec [which] is a huge milestone for us and we will look at more provinces moving forward and continue to flourish within Ontario.”
He finished by providing an update on Play’n GO’s licensing application in Brazil which he said is “really starting to gain traction” and he added that he can envision Brazil being a “key and focused market within the months and years ahead” for the company.
