The next SBC digital day is fast approaching and this time it is all about digital affiliates. On September 4, affiliate leaders across the industry will be offering their insights on a range of key topics and the latest news in the SEO landscape.
On the latest episode of iGaming Daily, James Ross was joined by Martyn Elliott, SBC’s Media Project Director and Jack Howe, SBC’s Digital Event Producer, to look ahead to the day.
Martyn started by running through the topics that will be addressed on the day of the event.
Talking points on the agenda include the changes in the SEO landscape, problems with Google, generative AI and the role of influencers, among others.
Jack recently joined SBC as its Digital Event Producer and he spoke about the process he went through to put together the agenda.
He said: “The first point of call is always researching what people are doing and making sure that everyone’s talking about the same thing.
“Influencers at the moment are quite a big thing, especially with social media being so vital for marketing. So that was a big thing that I wanted to look at. Being new to the industry, I wanted to get as much information as possible about these different subjects, what was popular and also who was talking about this.”
During the digital day, speakers on offer include industry heavyweights like Simon Vince from Casino Guru, Tom Galanis, CEO of TAG Media, and iGaming Daily’s very own SEO Expert Ivana Flynn.
On the lineup, Martyn said: “These digital conferences, we brought them back about a year ago and we’ve been doing them in various verticals, such as casinos, sportsbook, payments and so on. I think this is the strongest speaker lineup we’ve had overall in terms of the specific expertise we’ve got. It’s not just about the brand name next to the speaker, but we do have Better Collective, Game Lounge and all the big players in there.”
As previously mentioned, putting together a conference like the Affiliate Leaders Digital Day is a long process and both Jack and Martyn paid tribute to those within SBC who helped make the event possible.
They explained that collaboration is required from across several departments including the tech and design teams who “make sure everything is set up” and are “involved in the marketing assets, setting up the platforms and making sure the branding is right”.
“For this particular event, we’ve done a lot of work with Julian Pitts and Brendon Spiteri who are working on our affiliate relationships team. They’re the guys who have great contacts throughout the affiliate sector and their advice has been very useful in this,” added Martyn.
“Once we got that ball rolling the key contribution came from Jack putting the agenda together, and since joining the company he’s done this pretty much nine to five every day. And then great support from the media marketing team to get this out and promote it. They work extremely hard to bring in the numbers and bring in an audience. Their role is crucial in this.”
