FanDuel has launched a new responsible gambling tool designed to stop players ‘shooting in the dark’ and manage their budget.

Titled ‘My Spend’, the feature allows users to track spending patterns and gain greater oversight of their budget. Users are able to view personal statistics related to their engagement with FanDuel, including the amount deposited and net winnings over the last seven days, four weeks or three months.

The My Spend dashboard also encourages customers to utilise FanDuel’s existing suite of responsible gaming tools, including deposit and wager limits.

According to the operator, the tool was developed based on internal and external research demonstrating its players’ interest in “personalised activity insights and a deeper understanding of their own behaviour”.

Alison Kutler, VP of Responsible Gaming and Community Impact at FanDuel, commented: “FanDuel believes our customers should always have a budget and plan in mind when they engage with our products, and we are thrilled to introduce My Spend to help customers track their spending and manage their play,”

“As we look to continuously raise the standard for what it means to be a responsible operator, we look forward to continuing to bring new and innovative ways to support our customers.”

Shooting in the dark

To support the launch of My Spend, FanDuel released a new advertising campaign that encourages customers to engage with the dashboard.

In the 30-second ad, players are invited to take part in a basketball shooting competition, however, as it begins the lights are turned out. Using night-vision cameras, players struggle to find balls to take a shot and one even gets hit in the head by a rebounding ball.

“We wanted to show that betting without knowing how much you’re spending is like shooting in the dark,” stated FanDuel.

My Spend is available to FanDuel’s customers across its sportsbook, casino, fantasy racing and faceoff products.
