England’s Ashes hero Stuart Broad has been a busy man since hanging up his cricket spikes in the summer of 2023, splitting his time between punditry and running his own cricket-themed pub.
Now, England’s second-highest wicket-taker has taken on his latest role, starting an ‘internship’ with Fitzdares.
In an advert posted across the bookmaker’s social media channels, the spot goes behind the scenes during Broad’s first day at the office.

“It’s an exciting day for the business, it’s one I’ve thought about a lot. Stuart Broad is coming into the office today as part of our heroes programme so he’s just another employee, don’t be weird,” began Fitzadres CEO, William Woodhams – before immediately hugging Broad when he entered the room and then asking for a selfie “for my son”.
The rest of the spot, which is littered with cricket puns, shows the four-times Ashes winner being shown the ropes in the Fitzdares call centre, playing cricket with the staff in the office and talking through his tea-making skills.
It ends with Broad being asked for a coffee with Woodhams which, according to Sarah, the firm’s Content Manager, is never a good sign as “when you go for a coffee with the CEO, in most cases, we don’t see them again”.
Fitzdares signs Broad to drive cricket engagement
Fitzdares elevated its cricket profile by signing Stuart Broad as an ambassador in August 2024.
As part of his role, Broad contributes monthly blogs and video content for Fitzdares as well as makes appearances at Fitzdares Club events.
The partnership also supports a charitable cause as Fitzdares and Broad have committed to raising money and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease through The Broad Appeal. Each month, Fitzdares gives Broad a monthly betting pot of £500 to wager with all profits going to charity.
At the time of the announcement, Woodhams commented: “We’ve been searching for someone to represent our brand, and we’ve finally found our man! Fitzdares stands for pedigree, sporting excellence, and a bit of mischief—qualities Stuart Broad embodies perfectly.”
