Industry leaders from across the globe gathered last week for SBC’s second annual summit in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Plinio Jorge, President of ANJL stressed the importance of the Rio Summit, “for the development of our regulation, as it allows us to exchange ideas and work together for the benefit of the regulated sector.”

Spread out across two days, the event marked a celebration point for the Brazilian market as it concludes its first year of regulation, following the legalisation of iGaming in the region late in 2023.

“The operations are already more consolidated, and the market is more mature. So this is a moment when the community comes together to discuss the next steps,” said Carla Dualib Sonnewend, business development manager at SOFTSWISS Latam.

And it wasn’t all business.

Interactive booths, a fantastic opening party and an appearance by Brazilian sporting legend Ronaldinho marked the event out as the premier meeting point for iGaming operators in the region.

SBC Summit Rio will return to Riocentro on the 2-4 March 2027.
