The rollout of the North American betting market might be grabbing a lot of headlines in the betting industry world this year, but for EazeGames, Europe is the main focus.

Making an appearance at the SBC Summit Barcelona last month, the skill-based game developer’s CEO and Co-Founder, Sam Holthuizen, laid out the company’s ambitions and plans for growth in the European sector.

“EazeGames is a competitive gaming platform, and we make competitive gaming accessible to everyone. We do so by offering skill-based competitions on our platform and players can play head-to-head matches as well as competitions for real-life prizes, such as monetary prizes but also physical prizes.

He explained: “Our main goal is to become a market leader in Europe as soon as possible because the market is literally up for grabs because there’s not a lot of players in the industry that are focusing on Europe.

“We really want to expand in all relevant European countries – that’s why Multi-Language local payment methods are very important for us.”

Meanwhile, Robert van de Koerf, underscored that EazeGames has already established a strong foothold in Europe as a supplier of skill-based games.

“We have little to no competition,” he noted. “At this moment. What we have in Europe are mostly outdated, have an outdated platform and are not mobile-first – we completely fall to mobile-first.”

Lastly, Holthuizen also shared his views on the SBC Summit Barcelona, describing it as a ‘great way’ to meet and network with industry leaders and experts.

He continued: “Of course, this is a gambling event, so it’s a different industry from what we do because we do skill-based gaming, but it does have some overlap between the two industries and so it’s very interesting to learn from leaders in the industry and apart from that we’re also looking for strategic partners.

“For example, gambling companies that are looking to tap into the real money skill gaming markets, which is what we do. For them, it’s a great way to make use of our products, our team and expertise, and for us, it’s a way to make use of their network and resources which enables us to scale much faster and become a market leader that much sooner.”

In addition to EazeGames, the Summit saw interviews, speeches and panel contributions from a diverse group of speakers representing a range of organisations, including Synot, Sportingtech, SofaScore and Entain’s Jette Nygaard-Andersen.
