As David Moyes prepares to battle Rafa Benitez this weekend, conversation arose on the 888Sport Eye Test podcast over who are some of the Premier League’s most underrated gaffers.

The panel of fans underlined that there are managers, like Benitez and Moyes who span across generations – with many fans not being aware of the job the Scotsman did at Everton and only knowing him for his tenure at Old Trafford.

Ped of ToffeeTV praised Benitez and the job he has done at Goodison Park so far, lauding his shrewd moves in the transfer market in spite of having limited funds.

When it comes, however, to managers that are truly underrated the panel paid tribute to the work of Brighton’s Graham Potter, who the panel believes is on his way to a top job at one of the league’s big clubs.

In terms of getting a major job, Flex of the United Stand emphasised the importance of timing as he highlighted that at one stage Eddie Howe was being touted for the Arsenal job, prior to Bournemouth’s relegation.

He went on to state his belief that the job Sean Dyche has done at Burnley – consistently keeping them in the top flight means he has to be considered one of the league’s most underrated bosses.
