UFC President Dana White joined The Dave Portnoy Show with Eddie and co. ahead of this weekend’s massive heavyweight collision between Francis Ngannou and Cyril Gane.
The future of Barstool-backed Paddy Pimblett was also discussed, as White broke the news that he will be facing Jared Gordon on 19 March, when the UFC makes its long-awaited return to London.
He went on to praise Conor McGregor, who Portnoy stated he believes ‘will never be a premier guy again’, however, White lauded the Irishman for his desire to get back and continue firing towards the top, in spite of the millions he has already made.
White also detailed his enjoyment for being able to speak directly to the consumer, as the UFC President continues to engage with alternative media platforms – as he doubled down on his backing for Joe Rogan, the UFC commentator, who will provide the backdrop to this weekend’s event.
Portnoy also pressed White on his view on Jake Paul, who has been a longstanding critic of the UFC president. The UFC leader, although praising the YouTuber’s ability to ‘create a buzz’, underlined that he has been picking his opponents well and is boxing fighters far lighter than him.
