Adam Weinstein, CEO of Thrive Fantasy: “esports will be here for the long run”

During last year’s SBC Summit North America, Thrive Fantasy Founder and CEO Adam Weinstein spoke to SBC about the burgeoning US sports gambling market and the potential of esports.

Weinstein emphasised a key focus when discussing esports as a sector that could see huge growth in the coming years.

“We’ve been in the market for 3 years now for all the major professional sports along with esports, we’re really bullish on the esports sector,” said Weinstein.

“The bigger players right now are mostly focused on the traditional sports better and where they’re going. They’re not realising how big the esports market and that demographic is.

“We definitely know, at least the ones who are focusing on esports, they’re young, they’re affluent, they have a propensity to gamble. Hopefully we can get that point across that they shouldn’t be just focused on sports, we are also looking at a couple esports teams that we are looking to partner with. Esports is here to comment and will be here for the long run.”

Although interested in a venture into the esports world, Weinstein has made traditional sports a priority for Thrive Fantasy.

He added: “We’ve just partnered with 2 NFL teams; the Jacksonville Jaguars and the LA Chargers. We’re really excited for 2022. Sports betting, daily fantasy is all booming right now, we’re just excited about the landscape as a whole, where it’s going and hopefully thrive.”

Thrive Fantasy specifically focuses on player props, outlining athletes’ statistics in sports such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. With over/under odds on specific players with a range of statistics available, Thrive Fantasy is looking to stand out from the crowd.

“There are probably two behemoths in the space that most people are familiar with – the FanDuels and DraftKings of the world. We wanted to make a much more simple game concept for the casual fan”.

“Now that New York is turning the lights on in the next couple months, we think that this is just the top of the first inning in sports betting. Even though it’s expanding very quickly, this is still so early. 2022 and beyond is going to be phenomenal,” Weinstein concluded.
