As political turbulence continues in the UK, Johnny Ward and William Kedjanyi are joined by Neil Channing to review last week’s by-elections in Wakefield and Tiverton and Honiton. 

The panel analysed the backlash following the two by-elections, which in spite of going in the way the betting markets anticipated, served to shift the prices on Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s’ exit date. 

Channing detailed his belief that the Tiverton and Honiton is a more significant loss for the PM, with it underlining that he is facing an onslaught on two fronts, with the seat being picked up by the Liberal Democrats. 

Kedjanyi stated that he believes the result in Wakefield emphasises the polls are correct and that Labour’s position is currently strong, as they capatilise on the shortfalls of the current government. 

He added that he feels the result in Tiverton and Honiton outlines just how much Johnson is damaging the Tory party’s core brand, with it being a historically Conservative seat.
