The LSR cast gathered to discuss PointsBet stepping back and MGM stepping in as the odds presenter sponsor for the NFL.

In a very thought-provoking and head-scratching fashion, “who leaves the NFL” was Co-Host Adam Candee’s starting comments to what undoubtedly is a move that’s bound to raise some eyebrows.

It seems that it “brings up a lot of questions” for Candee as well, who found it difficult to explain why PointsBet has given up on one of the most popular programs in all of live programming.

Fair points to him however, as he nevertheless did not fail to mention the company’s previous announcement that it’s going to scale down national presence in favour of regional advertisement.

What was also brought up was PointBet’s tie-up with NBC, which doesn’t help to dilute the confusion as Sunday Night football is perhaps the most important piece of that deal.

Visibly confused, Candee’s Co-Host Dustin Gouker also tried to make sense of the situation, suggesting that the three to four percent of PointBet’s market share nationally “did not move the needle for them”.

He also noted that the ambitions of BetMGM are now clear, with the operator wanting to challenge DraftKings and FanDuel for a leadership position, rather than being content with just being in the top five.
