Many will be familiar with ChatGPT but now Fanduel has launched its own AI assistant for the NBA Hall-of-Famer Charles Barkley.
In a new ad posted on its YouTube channel, FanDuel has introduced ‘ChuckGPT‘, a device that the 11x NBA All-Star can use to consult on his bets with FanDuel.
“I love betting on the NBA with FanDuel, especially when I’ve got the world’s greatest basketball mind on my side,” Barkley tells the camera before he asks for ChuckGPT’s opinion on his parlay.
The device, which is designed as a bust of Barkley, then cheekily suggests the real-life Barkley should use it for something that he really needs help with, for which it states there are “hundreds of results”.
Young Chuck
This is not the first time that FanDuel and Barkley have linked for a promotion. The US giant tapped ‘Chuck’ for its ‘Think Like a Player’ campaign in April 2023.
For the ad, FanDuel leveraged deepfake technology to digitally reimagine Barkley as he was in his playing days alongside his present-day self.
Barkley then recruited his younger self to help fans understand FanDuel’s Same Game Parlay products as well as how to place bets on their favourite players.
Manning Bowl
Away from the NBA, FanDuel also ramped up its promotion for this month’s Super Bowl.
Ahead of the game, which saw the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, NFL icons Peyton and Eli Manning faced off during Fox’s pre-game show in the third iteration of FanDuel’s ‘Kick of Destiny’.
After Patriots star Rob Gronkowski missed both his attempts in the previous two versions of the promotion, Manning and Peyton also missed their first attempts from 25 yards.
Peyton then struck the right upright with his attempt from 20 yards before Manning became the first player to make a kick as he slotted his effort.
Customers were offered a free pick on which Manning would win, and over one million FanDuel customers received $10 in bonus bets for backing the right brother, according to the sportsbook.
