Maximising punter engagement, the panel, which was hosted by the operator’s official spokesperson Paddy, also invited questions from the audience as they sought to better inform themselves about the runners and riders from the landmark racing event.
As part of the two-hour panel, Paddy was joined by Ruby Walsh the third most prolific jump jockey in British and Irish jump racing history, trainer Tony Mullins, retired National Hunt Jockey Nina Carberry and Frank Hickey, Paddy Power horse racing trader and tipster.
With over 30,000 views on YouTube, the panel preview underlined a significant appetite for long form content amongst sports betting punters and horse racing fans, especially in the build up to key events.
The panel forms part of the bookmaker’s wider marketing strategy of engaging with punters using popular sporting figures, demonstrated most recently with the ‘Thoroughbred Crouchy’ campaign featuring much-loved England striker Peter Crouch.
As well as this, catering for more committed racing fans they also took a trip down memory lane in a feature piece with Ruby Walsh, as the decorated figure analysed some of his prosperous moments from the Festival’s history.
Additionally, the panel expands on Paddy Power’s Cheltenham slogan encouraging punters to ‘Feel Like a Favourite,’ discussing the bookmaker’s special promotions and offers for the highly anticipated festival, as well as sharing their own personal opinions on the horses and jockeys competing.
Furthermore, the operator utilised the platform to affirm its commitment to social responsibility, reminding the audience of the importance of gambling responsibly.
