This week’s Betfred Boxing Show saw former world champion Anthony Crolla heap praise on Brian Castaño after his valiant effort against Jermell Charlo.
The undisputed battle was controversially deemed a draw, however, it’s a fight that both Crolla and Dom McGuinness would be ecstatic to see again.
Controversy over the scorecards was elevated over the card, which saw the fight given to Charlo by a score of 117-111.
In what was a close fight, many had the Mexican edging it, therefore such a wide verdict to Charlo raised the eyebrows of many fight fans and pundits.
“What a fight,” he said.” You know when it’s a big fight like that – when all the marbles are on the line, you want it to deliver and I think anyone who knew boxing, knew it was going to be a tough night for Charlo.
“I thought he [Castaño] could feel quite hard done by not to get the decision – there’s no doubt Charlo is super talented, but Castaño just didn’t let him breathe, he will go back a hero, but he should back with the rewards of the belts as well.
“I would love to see it again, it was a fantastic fight and he has certainly put his name in the hat for some huge fights.”
