In spite of British boxing’s schedule being put on ice for the first month of January, excitement remains elevated for the sport in 2022.

In William Hill’s Final Round, Gareth A. Davies and David Alorka expressed their excitement over the heavyweight division and the potential clashes for the year ahead, revealing that Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua are set to battle once more in April.

They also underlined anticipation for an all British dust-up between the king of the mountain, Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte, which as of right now appears some way from being finalised.

When it comes to his 2022 wishlist, Davies’ attention was also drawn to the welterweights, as he revealed his optimism for a super fight between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr, which has long been touted as the fight to make by fans of the sport.

Pound-for-pound king, Canelo Alvarez stole the headlines in 2021 as Davies was adamant he can elevate his limelight for the year ahead if he collides with Artur Beterbiev.

Back on these shores, Davies and Alorka shared their allurement and excitement for a potential London derby between Anthony Yarde and Joshua Buatsi, which would get the juices of the capital flowing.
