Talking on the over-focusing on the “front gates”, while neglecting other critical assets Aronashvili stated: “While we see a very significant gap between the cybersecurity level of those gateways when it compares to the internal organisation or the security of the rest of the organisation that can be also of course a way into the organisation.
“More in depth, when we talk about the ever-evolving threat there are multiple ways for attackers to try and get access into the organisations from things that are considered to be very complicated and complex from an offensive point of view. Two things that are very simple like misconfiguration and things and just direct unauthenticated access to different interfaces.
“In general we say that organisations are trying to tailor different security solutions, trying to cover those specific threats, making sure that those threats will not be affected or efficient against those organisations.
“However between the cracks there are a lot of things that are being missed. Those specific user cases, those specific misconfigurations, the specific vulnerabilities that are missed are then being leveraged in order to create the attack story against the organisations.”
