Sports betting operator Betway has continued its fan engagement marketing initiatives, conducting a question and answer session with popular professional CS:GO players.

Asking the players the morbid-sounding question ‘what do you do when you die?’ in the game, such as whether there are any teammates in particular they will observe or communicate with, much of the answers focused on communication.

“I’ll just be flicking through people, it’s no one in particular,” said AZR. “I’ll just be flicking through, communicating to people if they don’t communicate. If someone’s in a really good spot and they’re in a power spot where they could win the round, I’ll be communicating, like telling everyone else to freeze.”

Fellow professional gamer apEX demonstrated a similar approach, saying: “I’m swapping all the time, I’m watching them all. Sometimes we have a communication issue and when I see the conditions are really bad, I can help teammates with my communication.”

Betway was identified as a ‘top three brand’ with regards to its esports products and content by Bob Lynch, Founder and President of Sponsor United, having established a strong foothold in the sector.

The operator further solidified its position in esports via an extension of its partnership with the Ligue 1 football club Paris Saint-Germain’s China-based Dota 2 team PSG.LGD, as part of a wider commitment as the side’s official betting partner.

Outside of esports, the firm also maintains a number of agreements in the cricketing space, having enlisted former England international Kevin Pietersen as a brand ambassador
