Following his dethroning of the much-feared Bellator welterweight champion Douglas Lima, Parimatch rolled out the red carpet for Yaroslav Amosov as he returned to Ukraine.
Utilising his spectacular wrestling skill, Amosov eased to a dominant points decision over Lima, as he made history by becoming the first Ukrainian to capture a major MMA title.
Parimatch ensured that Amosov received the hero’s welcome he deserved as the newly crowned welterweight king was greeted by an abundance of adoring fans upon his return.
Speaking after the victory, which was his 26th consecutive win in the sport, an emotional Amosov exclaimed: “I’m happy, because it’s my life. I’ve been training a long time, and this is the result. I’m happy.”
Next up for Amosov is likely a collision with London’s flamboyant striker Michael ‘Venom’ Page, an event that would undoubtedly draw huge eyes to Bellator given the profile of both fighters.
Furthermore, the stakes for Amoshov are raised beyond just a defence of his title, as history looms with him edging closer to the record of Khabib Nurmagomedov, who retired at 29 – 0.
Parimatch has a proud partnership with a plethora of fighters from both MMA and boxing, also holding strong ties with Conor McGregor, as the Irishman prepares for his trilogy fight with Dustin Porier next month.
During an exclusive interview last year, McGregor detailed to Parimatch what he believes are the key factors in maximising potential from both a business and a fighting perspective.
