With just two weeks until Cheltenham, UK betting operators are preparing for one of the most important periods in the calendar.

Providing coverage of the release of handicap weights for this year’s festival, Star Sports’ Nick Luck got the reaction and insight from some of the sport’s leading trainers as anticipation for the event elevates.

Alan King, Gordon Elliott, Martin Keighley, Neil Mullholland, Ben Pauling, Nigel Twiston-Davies, Henry Daly, and Christian Williams all stepped up to the mic to share their views ahead of the events – as coverage intensifies and excitement grows.

Dialling in, Elliot – who has favourites in several of the handicaps – highlighted Death Duty as having real potential for success, as well as Top Bandit, who he said is in his ‘deepest test’, at one of racing’s biggest festivals.

Mullholland followed up by emphasising pinpointed Brief Times in the Coral Cup as having a chance, as he looked ahead to an incredibly competitive field.

The Kansas City Chief brings good course form, although remains an unlikely shout for Mullholland.

Meanwhile, the latest episode of Star Sports Trader Chat analysed some of the key meetings leading up to the much-anticipated festival.
