Three English rugby league teams will be crossing the Atlantic to take part in the National Rugby League’s (NRL) Las Vegas event.
Reigning Betfred Super League champions Wigan Warriors will play their home fixture against the Warrington Wolves at the Allegiant Stadium, while England Women will take on the Australia Jillaroos in an international test match.
Four NRL teams will also be on display in Nevada with the New Zealand Warriors facing off against the Canberra Raiders and the three-time NRL champions the Penrith Panthers taking on Sydney rivals the Cronulla Sharks.
Rhodri Jones, RL Commercial Managing Director, said: “To have Betfred Super League featuring when Rugby League returns to Las Vegas in 2025, as well as a historic international fixture for England Women, is a mouthwatering prospect and a huge opportunity for the sport.
Wigan Warriors agreed to switch their home fixture to Las Vegas and their Chief Executive, Kris Radlinski, said that there was a “unanimous desire” from the club’s board to be part of the occasion.
Karl Fitzpatrick, Chief Executive of the Warrington Wolves, added: “The Vegas games earlier this year really captured the imagination and showed the Rugby League world what can be achieved by thinking and aiming big – next year it is going to be even bigger and to be part of this concept is going to be really special.”
To celebrate the occasion, Warrington called on international pop star and Warrington fan Rick Astley to announce the news to their fans.

The NRL is returning to Las Vegas in 2025 after holding its 2024 season opener in the same stadium earlier this year.
Over 40,000 people attended the NRL’s first Las Vegas promotion in March which showcased games involving the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Manly Sea Eagles, Brisbane Broncos and the Sydney Roosters.
The NRL’s CEO, Andrew Abdo, promised that this year’s event will be a “bigger, bolder and better festival of Rugby League”.
“The 2025 Las Vegas event will feature two highly anticipated NRL Premiership matches to open the season, the 2024 UK Challenge Cup finalists, Wigan and Warrington, and a Test match showcasing some of the most elite women’s players from both hemispheres,” explained Abdo.
“We’ve given fans the opportunity to plan early and take advantage of the Las Vegas festival experience – a true bucket list item for all Rugby League and sports fans.”
