The hotly-anticipated return of Oasis has also brought out “the worst Oasis fan you know”.

After the Gallagher brothers teased the reunion online, a trend emerged on social media of older Oasis fans attempting to gatekeep the band from younger fans, with some claiming that they are more deserving of a ticket.

In a clip posted on its X, formerly Twitter, account, Paddy Power captured the phenomenon in a skit showing an older fan questioning the credentials of a younger fan who appears to be sitting off camera.

The fan, dressed in a similar parka to the ones famously worn by Liam Gallagher, claims that he was on the “front lines” at Knebworth and had the Oasis haircut back in the day, which he denies looked like a “cycling helmet”.

He also questions what the younger fan’s favourite Oasis b-side is and why they weren’t queuing for the ‘Be Here Now’ album on release day despite not being born when it came out.

He finished: “Ticketmaster should implement some sort of test for fans when applying for tickets to the gig.

“I listened to Little James 30 times trying to convince myself it was good. It wasn’t, it was [rubbish]. I’ve been there in the musical trenches and now you’re going to turn up and watch the greatest hits tour, I don’t think so.”

The band announced their reunion tour today (August 27) after splitting up 15 years ago. They will play several dates across the UK and Ireland, starting at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 4 and 5.

Further gigs will take place in the band’s home city of Manchester in Heaton Park, followed by shows at Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin’s Croke Park.

A statement from the band also confirmed that plans are underway for Oasis Live ‘25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later in the year.

Paddy Power payout on Everton’s demise

Over the weekend, Paddy Power also announced that it has paid out all outright bets on Everton being relegated from the Premier League following their 4-0 loss to Tottenham Spurs.

This latest result came after a 3-0 loss to Brighton on the opening weekend of the season and has left the Toffees rooted to the foot of the Premier League table.

On the decision, Paddy Power said: “It hasn’t taken long but Paddy’s seen enough and he’s paying out on all bets on Everton to be relegated this season both in-store and online.

“Most thought they’d be alright with Dyche in charge but with seven conceded in 180 minutes and more red cards (one) than goals scored it’s looking like another long, hard season. So we thought we’d save everyone the bother of trudging through another 36 league games by pulling the trigger early.”
