Fun88 has announced the continuation of its partnership with the “legendary” South African cricketer Dale Steyn.
The fast bowler originally linked up with Fun88 in 2023, a relationship that the online gaming platform says has “strengthened Fun88’s credibility and trustworthiness in the global gaming industry”.
To celebrate the new partnership, the Asian operator released a new advert featuring Steyn, who is shown sitting in a changing room wearing a Fun88-branded cricket kit.
Highlights of the cricketer taking wickets during his international career are also featured, as well as clips of him celebrating with his South African teammates.
In the advert, Steyn said: “From humble beginnings to the world stage, I made it through hard work, dedication and belief. I pushed limits, broke barriers, and never forgot to have fun. Now, with FUN88, my journey continues. Whether it’s your next big game or a shot at fame, Fun88 is your guide. Play Fun, Win Big!”
Steyn is known as one of the most recognisable names in world cricket, especially for Indian audiences.
As well as playing for his country, the cricketer also competed in the Indian Premier League Twenty20 (T20) competition, turning out for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Deccan Chargers, Gujarat Titans and the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In a press release announcing the latest agreement, Fun88 described Steyn’s role as a brand ambassador as playing “a pivotal role in elevating Fun88’s reputation”.
The operator added: “His professionalism, along with his love for sports, matches Fun88’s values of transparency, caring for customers and providing top-quality entertainment. His presence has helped Fun88 connect with sports fans on a deeper level and bring them closer to the action.
“As Fun88 continues to expand, the platform is looking forward to strengthening its relationship with Steyn.”
This latest development strengthens Fun88’s association with cricket, as the operator has previously partnered with the Caribbean Premier League.
More recently, Fun88 became the title sponsor of Vizag Warriors, a team which competes in the Andhra Premier League (APL), a regional T20 cricket league in India.
