What is being said?

The video states: “The Betting and Gaming Council was formed a year ago. It was set up to bring together the bulk of the regulated betting and gaming industry. The betting and gaming industry contributes £8.7 billion to the UK economy. It pays £3.2 billion in tax and supports more than 100,000 jobs.”

Brigid Simmonds marked the BGC’s first anniversary by reviewing the progress made – and looking ahead, she explained: “The BGC has achieved a great deal in the last year but there is much more that we need to do. We now look forward to working with the government on review of the Gambling Act and working with ministers to see where we can raise standards further. We want to be a well regulated industry that is one that we can all be proud of throughout the world.”

Why should I watch it?
