With online and land-based sports betting now an established business in several US states, punters are eagerly awaiting the National Football League (NFL) play-offs, and ultimately the Super Bowl.

According to Oddschecker, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the team most likely to prevail in the National Football Conference at 7/2, whilst the Florida side is also the third favourite to win the tournament overall at 15/2.

Meanwhile, the American Football Conference is pipped to be won by the Kansas City Chiefs, and the defending champions from Missouri are also predicted to win the NFL outright with odds of 4/1.

However, for FoxBet’s Colin Cowherd, the Las Vegas Raiders may be a team for both punters and bookmakers to keep an eye out for as the play-offs progress, pointing to the abilities of quarterback Derek Carr.

Ahead of the Raiders clash against the Indianapolis Colts, he remarked: “I think the Colts are the better team, but the Raiders are very much alive in the play-off spot and they’re going to empty everything they have.

“I would say the Raiders are one of the surprises in the NFL, I thought the franchise was a house of cards and I still think to a large degree it is, but if you are Derek Carr’s agent you’ve got a sales pitch.

He continued: “We’ve got two weeks to go and they’re very much in the play-off race. I would take the Raiders here, lay it all out, kitchen-sink offense and keep it close.”
