Betfred has marked the new Super League season with the launch of its ‘Be Ready’ promotional campaign.
The 2021 season, which gets underway on 26 March, as St Helens go head to head with the Salford Red Devils at the Emerald Headingley Stadium.
In 2019, the UK-based bookmaker extended its long-running title sponsorship of the premier rugby league competition by a further two years, representing the ‘biggest ever commercial deal’ in the tournament’s history.
Betfred also continued its commitment to the second tier Championship and League 1, along with the inclusion of the burgeoning Women’s Super League (WSL) for the first time.
“The year that’s been can inform the year that’s to come,” the video’s voiceover said. “Revel in it, learn from it, build on it. Place it in the trophy cabinet and put a line through it. The past doesn’t define you but this season just might.
“Legends reborn, champions coming home, new faces and new talents. The same unrivalled intensity. This is 2021. This is the Betfred Super League.”
Last season, the league was suspended mid-way through March as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, before resuming at the beginning of August behind closed doors to comply by COVID-19 regulations.
Toronto Wolfpack was forced to withdraw from the revised 11-team league, which saw promotion and relegation scrapped from the format. However, the Betfred Championship and League 1 were both cancelled as a consequence.
Last year, Betfred also announced it would be sponsoring all three England teams at the upcoming Rugby League World Cup, including the Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair outfits.
