As William Hill prepares to ‘go on the road’ for Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight title defence against Oleksandr Usyk next weekend, The Final Round team got together to discuss potential the build up.
With William Hill serving as one of Anthony Joshua’s primary sponsors – the company’s logo adorns the ring and the ropes during his bouts – the bookmaker is currently offering the Watford-born fighter odds of 2/5 to win outright, and 10/11 by KO, TKO or DQ.
Meanwhile, his undefeated Ukrainian opponent and former undisputed cruiserweight champion, Usyk comes in as a 9/4 underdog, with odds of 7/1 to knock Joshua to the canvas or claim a stoppage or disqualification.
“Usyk is a dangerous opponent,” observed The Final Round’s Gareth Davies. “He’s a southpaw, they’re both Gold medalists from the 2012 Olympics, he has vast experience and is great with his footwork.
“They’ll be trying to get the smallest ring possible, because they know that Usyk will take the outside, he’s not going to stand toe-to-toe with Joshua. But Joshua has got to be aggressive in this fight in my view – not throw his hands all the time, but walk Usyk down and try and trap him in the corners, and let his hands go. I do believe he is capable of stopping this guy.”
He added: “Anthony Joshua needs to put power on him, lean on him, be the bigger man – all those things in this fight, and it will make it a big fight.”

Meanwhile, Okolie will make an appearance on the undercard of Joshua’s clash against Usyk next weekend, facing off against Dilan Prašović of Montenegro in a defence of his WBO cruiserweight title.
