As another NBA season draws closer, Rotowire’s Nick Whalen joins the Sweat as he analysed the top picks to win the 2021-2022 Most Valuable Player Award. 

It’s a market currently led by Slovenian Luka Dončić, however, Whalen emphasised his belief that the market is wide open heading into the new season.

He added that he likes the chances of Nikola Jokić, who remains a slight outsider in the market, yet has performed exceptionally in recent years. 

Furthermore, the pundit also highlighted the potential challenge of Steph Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who have both thrilled fans over the past few campaigns. 

At 8/1 and off the back of an incredible championship campaign, Whalen underlined Giannis as his favourite to take the mantle, which would be his third in four years and further cement his legacy in the sport.
