After England’s triumph over Germany on Tuesday night followed the exhilarating double header on Monday, the three day break from European Championship action will have felt like a lifetime for Three Lions’ fans.
However, the action returns this weekend as the quarter finals commence, with four mouthwatering ties.
Speaking on the latest episode on BettingExpert’s The Big Stage podcast, Wayne Bridge revealed that the strength in depth of the England squad could be key, especially as Ukraine were forced to play 120 minutes against Sweden on Tuesday.
He added that Southgate will be keen to guard against complacency, highlighting some of the heavyweight nations that have already been eliminated.
Bridge was joined by Rory Jennings, who stated his belief that West Ham’s Andriy Yarmolenko is Ukraine’s key threat on Saturday, also raising concerns about it being the sole game the Three Lions will play away from Wembley.
Nonetheless, he backed up the odds as he affirmed his view England are by far the better team – holding every belief that they book their palace in the final four on Saturday.
The panel also put together a bet builder for the tie, picking captain Harry Kane to net first and continue where he left off against Germany, England to keep a clean sheet and the same number of goals to be scored in both halves – A bet that comes in at 12/1.
In arguably the most alluring of the ties this weekend Belgium take on Italy, with Bridge detailing just how impressed he has been with Mancini’s side so far in this tournament.
Jennings and Bridge both pinpointed the absences of Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard as being the difference between the two sides, in what would have previously been deemed as ‘a clash of the titans’.
It’s also a bumper weekend of racing, with Irishracing.com and Bettingexpert previewing the Coral Eclipse as part of the acclaimed ‘Jump To It’ show, hosted by Shane Anderson.
Anderson was joined by racing experts, Ed Quigley and Stephen Harris, who both shared their insight into what they expect to unfold in the Coral Eclipse, as well as looking back on some terrific racing from last weekend.
