As the Premier League returns, 888Sport welcomed back some of YouTube’s most recognisable influencers for an episode of ‘The Eye Test’, as Flex from the United View emphasised the pressure is on Ole Gunnar Solskjær to achieve success at Old Trafford.
It comes after the club welcomed back legendary attacker Cristiano Ronaldo, leading to the panel agreeing that United have done the best business of the window.
Steven Mcinerney of Manchester City Fan Channel, Esteemed Kompany, underlined his belief that this season the Blues’ Manchester rivals should be winning trophies. He did however, go onto question whether Solskjaer has the credentials and experience to take United to the top.
He stated: “United have players that will win games, that is why we have to take them seriously, look at the Wolves game for example with Mason Greenwood and adding Ronaldo to that.”
Flex added by underlining the point that Ronaldo isn’t the same player as he was when he was first at United, however, stating his belief that if he plays as the vocal point at the top of United’s attack ‘he will score goals’.
He went on to praise the manager for altering the culture and changing the mentality at the club, as well his recruitment, which has been embodied in their summer transfers of Jadon Sancho or Raphael Varane.
The trio then discussed the saga involving Harry Kane and why his transfer to the Etihad didn’t come to fruition. With Mcinerney revealing that in spite of the England captain being a potentially big signing for City, he is willing to wait for Erling Haaland.
Rory Jennings then magnified the strategy of Arsenal, as the panel struggled to identify a direction for the transfer strategy of The Gunners, after they spent significant amounts without strengthening their first team.
