Mo Salah’s positioning in this year’s Ballon d’Or caused controversy as the star was overlooked for the prize, however, the panel of pundits on 888sport’s The Eye Test revealed their belief the Liverpool star is the most likely next Premier League player to capture the honor.

The panel agreed that an in-form Liverpool side is only a Premier League or Champions League title away from Salah being right back at the forefront of the discussion around the Ballon D’Or.

In terms of an Englishman potentially capturing the accolade, the panel picked out Phil Foden, who Steven McInerney described as a sponge in the way he absorbs knowledge from those around him, including City gaffer Pep Guardiola.

Manchester United commentator, Flex, also threw the name of Mason Greenwood into the mix, acknowledging he hasn’t reached them levels yet, underlining the potential of the United forward as he continues to grow.

Spurs fan Abi Summers also urged the panel not to rule out Harry Kane, as the England captain continues to be prolific in front of goal and is likely only a major trophy away from being in the running.
