The European Championships once again dominated the weekend’s sporting and betting headlines as the knockout phases of the tournament commenced.

Undoubtedly the standout result saw the Czech Republic eliminate the Netherlands and subsequently open up their side of the draw, leading to the shortening of the odds of either England or Germany making it to the final.

Czech talisman, Patrick Schick, also moved within touching distance of landing an unlikely tournament golden boot, bagging his fourth tournament goal in their surprise win.

He moved to within one goal of Cristiano Ronaldo, who remains a clear favourite for the crown, in spite of Portugal being eliminated at the hands of Belgium on Sunday evening.

Despite Portugal’s elimination, Ronaldo is currently around 5/4, followed by Lukaku at 7/2 and Schick at 5/1. Elsewhere on the list, Karim Benzema remains around 10/1 and after notching England’s only two goals, Raheem Sterling is priced at about double those odds, as the patriotic pick.

In a clash of the titans in racing, Will Buick edged out Frankie Dettori in the Irish Derby at Curragh as Hurricane Lane defeated Lone Eagle.

In what was a thrilling affair, Hurricane Lane produced an electrifying finish as the Aidan O’Brien market-leader High Definition was left in the distance.

Following a tough series opener, the Milwaukee Bucks moved to clear favourites in the Eastern Conference final against the Atlanta Hawks, as Giannis Antetokounmpo produced two game-changing performances.

The Bucks remain as slight favourites for the overall championship, ahead of the Phoenix Suns, who extended their lead over Kawhi Leonard’s LA Clippers to 3-1, as they edge close to a likely final with the Bucks.
