Swedish betting firm, Betsson Group, has unveiled its new marketing campaign in collaboration with Brazilian football team Ibis Sport Clube, marking the biggest sponsorship deal in the club’s history.

The video campaign, which takes a unique angle, promoting Ibis as ‘the worst football team in the world’ due to its unwanted accolade, depicts players skewing their shots, slipping in the face of goal, along with other mishaps.

“This is Ibis Sport Clube – the worst football team in the world,” a voiceover begins. “It has the incredible record of 55 consecutive games without a win.

“But this season, Ibis players will be playing the Champions League, Libertadores, Copa America, and many more!”

Back in the changing rooms, the players download the BetssonFC app, a fantasy football game which allows them to ‘cheer and win’ in ‘major championships’, playing with some of the best players across the globe.

Andrea Rossi, Commercial Director Southern Europe and LatAm at Betsson Group, posted on LinkedIn: “Amazing job from our Team Brazil in activating Betsson partnership with Ibis FC – the worst football club in the world.

“Chapeau to Bruna Caldas, Andre Gelfi, Rodolfo Marzochi Campitelli & Bold Team and Ibis FC to deliver such a masterpiece. Everyone can play with the best of the world…even you!”
