Robbie Savage and Emma Jones both praised the form of West Ham, as the Irons continue to flourish under the leadership of David Moyes.

West Ham seemed to have taken to combining European and domestic football beautifully, having secured a place in the last eight of the Carabao Cup and notched up a perfect record in the Europa League.

Savage lauded Moyes and the Hammers as he stated: “The manager has got a squad that he utilises ever so well, he has players that are playing at the very top of their game – look at Declan Rice and Antonio.

“The only worry would be if he is out for a considerable length of time, but players have stepped up – look at Benrahma, Soucek from midfield and the manager is experienced.”

The Hammers affirmed that the praise of Savage was well placed with a resounding victory over Aston Villa last Sunday, which moved them into the Champions League places ahead of Manchester United.

Next up for the Irons is a Thursday night clash with Genk, a side that the East End club demolished at the London Stadium in the opening home fixture.
