A frustrating start to the season continued for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, as they fell to defeat at the hands of league leaders Arsenal last Sunday.

In this week’s edition of BetVictor’s Last Fan Standing, RedmenTV’s Paul Machin underlined that in spite of the poor form – Klopp’s status as Liverpool manager remains secure.

It’s a statement that was backed up by Arsenal fan Lee Judges, who stated his belief that Liverpool were ‘the best side they have come up against this season’.

He singled out Thiago for praise, as the midfielder looks to drag the Merseyside club out of a tough spot. However, the defence is an area that he highlighted as being vulnerable and something the club need to strengthen.

Lawrence Bury also cited the approach of the board to the transfer window as potentially hindering the club’s progress after a period of challenging for European and domestic honours.

The podcast comes as Liverpool’s collision with champions Manchester City looms, a tie that will provide the Reds with a major opportunity to turn around their fortunes and push up the table.

Klopp’s side will also be looking to cement their decent form in Europe this week, as they head to Glasgow to take on Rangers in a crunch tie this evening, in what will be a hostile atmosphere.
